How Alpine plants are responding to climate change

Many Alpine plants are increasingly under pressure due to climate change. The Ricola Foundation is supporting a project led by Prof. Alex Widmer and Prof. Jake Alexander (ETH Zurich) that investigates whether gene flow of plants from lower, warmer altitudes can improve the adaptability of populations in higher regions. The study aims to provide new insights into how Alpine plants adapt to changing environmental conditions and the role genetic processes play in this adaptation.
