BEE HEALTH
Healthy Bees: A Global Issue
Honeybees are endangered worldwide. In particular, the health of Western honeybees kept by humans is under acute threat. The Ricola Foundation’s core activity is therefore to support the international network COLOSS (Prevention of honey bee COlony LOSSes).
COLOSS is active worldwide in researching and mitigating the loss of honeybee colonies and aims to systematically investigate the causes of this bee mortality in order to implement appropriate protective measures.
The Ricola Foundation’s support helps to further expand and maintain this global network of research institutes and universities. COLOSS currently has over 2,300 members from more than 100 countries.
In addition, we support individual research projects on bee health.
